Side Notes

The taste and texture of coffee is highly dependent on the method of brewing. Although there are no rules and every person has a unique preference, some brew methods bring out the best in certain coffees. Brewing method has a high weightage in our scoring system as we want to make sure that the coffee that we recommend fits well into your coffee routine.

Side Notes

The process of roasting coffee involves heating green coffee in order to unlock flavors. Our partner roasters have a comprehensive understanding of beans and know well which roast level is suitable for different coffees. Although there is no universal bean color to define the roast level, coffee roasters have their own methods usually defined by time of the first crack in relation to the total roasting time. To make it simpler, we categorise all coffees available on Sixteen Grams using a common scale.

Light Roast

High on acidity and a fuller flavour profile

Medium Roast

Subtle acidity with some roastiness while preserving flavors of coffee's origin

Dark Roast

Muted acidity, caramelized and smoky
